Created 20 years ago by Romain (then a pro rider) and for his own use, the Easy shift crankset was born from his desire to overcome the blockages and material constraints limiting his performance and his pleasure. The problem ? At the time, it was not possible to produce it for the general public: the bikes were mostly triple chainrings, the derailleurs had low tension... This is how Romain used his system off-road in races for ten years. Technological advances in the bicycle industry made it possible to commercialize his invention in 2015. Since then, a thousand riders have trusted the crankset, from pro World Cup riders to the general public.

Does the system fit on all bikes ?
Yes, and with every transmission brand.
Yes, the crankset greatly reduces kickback : since your chain is constantly moving, you don't have this
tension in your cranks. The only time you will feel the effect is if you completely lock your wheel (the chain will then be static)
Does the crankset reduce the kickback effect ?
Do the components wear out faster ?
The transmission is not under load so there is no premature wear compared to a conventional transmission. We have sometimes noticed premature wear of the rollers on some low-end derailleurs. The chain can dry out more quickly. It will therefore be necessary to lubricate it a little more often. We recommend a wax-based lubricant.
It is mandatory to have a fixed rear hub; a BCD 94 single chainring; BSA, BB92 or Press fit 30 bottom bracket and to use a chain guide with integrated shoe (for the warranty).
What are the usage contraints of the system ?
No, maintenance is not complicated. Just remember to lubricate your freewheel with a bearing lubricant or neutral oil after each wet ride or after each washing of your bike.
Does the maintenance complicated ?

Do the crank keep turning ?
We are often asked about the difference between our system and anti-kickback systems. They are products with different objectives even if they are visually similar. Here are the main differences to choose the product that will suit you best.
- The primary goal of Easy Shift is to be able to change gears whenever you want: on terrain where it is impossible to pedal, by pushing your bike, jumping, turning, etc. Anti-kickback systems do not allow this.
- For anti-kickback systems, the goal is to completely cancel the kickback. Our crankset allows this when the chain is moving, but this will no longer be the case if you completely lock your wheels.
= > If you are looking to reduce the kickback of your bike (be careful, some kinematics are designed not to have any) and you are hesitating between the 2 systems, the question will mainly be about the pedaling frequency (with the anti-kickback you can have degrees in the void before contact for each restart) or wheel lock (because our system will not reduce the kickback when the wheels are locked)
