1. A brand and products designed by a rider for all riders

HxR Components is a brand created by Romain Olmos, a former pro rider who never stopped riding.

His goal? To find the best compromises between innovation, feasibility, and price. But above all, he places the pleasure of riding, ease of use, and maintenance at the center of all his choices.

A former rider, mechanic, shop owner, and volunteer coach, Romain understands the needs of all riders of all levels, as well as those of the person who will be taking care of bike maintenance. Therefore, he guides all his choices with a single goal: to make the product relevant for each type of riding and each rider!

Relevant? Useful, with real added value for the type of use (we don't have the same needs for trail, enduro, or downhill), but also easy to use and maintain.

Product testing is also conducted with this goal in mind. Obviously, Romain tests all the products, but since each rider has their own way of riding and a different build, the products are also tested by other athletes—heavier, lighter, more "cat-like"...

2. A small company with big values

Choosing HxR Components means supporting a small business with strong values.

• Originality: All our products are designed and engineered in-house by Romain and the baron (our engineer). You won't find catalog products at HxR Components. (Some brands don't design all or part of their products. They select the part(s) from their factory catalog and simply apply their design.)

• Made in Europe: We have chosen to repatriate manufacturing to Europe (only the freewheel is still made in Taiwan for technical reasons, but we are hopeful that we will be able to produce it in Europe soon).

• Proximity: We work directly with many shops and we choose our distributors for our shared values, their technical expertise, and their love of beautiful products.

• Fairness: All our choices are made so that everyone involved (client, shops, distributors, HxR,...) benefits from them, whether technically, aesthetically, or financially. Cycling remains a pleasure.

3. Criterion No. 1 of all our choices: Quality

We could have put this reason first. At HxR Components, when we design a product, the number one criterion is and always will be quality. The product can be beautiful, innovative, fun, etc., but if it doesn't last, if you can't ride it for a long time, everywhere, and in all weather, it won't leave our computers.

Quality is linked to several decisions, the two main ones being:

• The design: From the very beginning, Romain and the baron considered the best technical solution to ensure it would last over time, even if it were a little heavier (while remaining reasonable), even if it were more difficult to manufacture (hello RadoxX and Erase), even if it were a little more expensive. The part must withstand all riders, even the heaviest or most "wild."

• The material: All our components are made of 7075 T6 aluminum. Why? Because the 7075 series is known for its great strength, its high resistance to pressure and impact without deforming. It is also more elastic than lower-grade aluminums like 6061. This is why 7075 aluminum is used in industry for high-stress parts such as aircraft.

4. These are beautiful pieces!

   Yes, our products are high-quality, but they're also beautiful. At HxR Components, we pay attention to detail to bring you exceptional aesthetics.

   Whether it's the chamfer and engraved H in our cranks, the detailed design of our stems, the curves on our direct-mount chainring, or the recesses on the disc mount or hub body, each product has small details that make all the difference.

   

   

   

   

   

   

   

   

   

   

   
   

   It's to be able to produce such fine details that we chose to manufacture entirely using CNC. We start with a block of aluminum and end up with a finished product with amazing details.

   
   

5. And it all started with innovation: The Easy Shift system

   

We can't explain who we are without mentioning the Easy Shift system. Because it all started with it. Because it sums up who we are.

Created 20 years ago by Romain to overcome the material constraints limiting its performance and enjoyment, the Easy Shift crankset is the first product marketed by HxR Components.

Simple: Can be used on all bicycle frames and with any drivetrain brand. As soon as the bike moves forward, shifting is possible. All you need is a single chainring, a lockout on your rear hub, a rear derailleur, and that's it!
